Actual device on display at the Canadian War Museum[1]

The Gaydar machine measured pupil dilation, perspiration, and pulse[1] in response to same-sex-erotic imagery.[2] Those tested were told that the machine’s purpose was to rate their stress levels.[1] However, the Canadian government used it to exclude or fire more than 400 men from civil service, the military, and the Mounties.[2]
