Pre-crime intervenes to punish, disrupt, incapacitate or restrict those deemed to embody future crime threats. The term is increasingly used in academic literature to describe and criticise, the tendency in criminal justice systems, to focus on crimes not yet committed.
Domain Awareness System[]
Specialist software now exists for crime-prediction by analyzing data.[1] An example is the Domain Awareness System created by Microsoft to be accessed by the NYPD, the FBI, and other intelligence agencies. It was supported by the 2012 New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the police commissioner Raymond Kelly. Such data is also sent to NSAtc.
