Foo fighter was a term used by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II to describe various unidentified flying objects or mysterious aerial phenomena seen in the skies over both the European and Pacific theaters of operations. They were formally reported from November 1944 onwards.

Author Renato Vesco revived the wartime theory that the foo fighters were a Nazi secret weapon, in his book, Intercept UFO, reprinted in a revised English edition as Man-Made UFOs.
